Responding to the Coronavirus with Unceasing Prayer

All of us are closely monitoring the development of the Coronavirus as it makes its way across America. This is an unprecedented situation as our communities take historic precautions. We’re all having to make adjustments, including our churches. There is still a great deal of uncertainty about the future concerning the Coronavirus. But what if this could be the catalyst for something greater?

It is moments such as these that create an opportunity for the gospel in the lives of those affected, which right now is EVERYONE! Our churches can be ministers of hope in the face of fear both practically and spiritually. There has never been a better time for our churches to cover our communities in prayer as we minister to their needs. Imagine if hundreds of churches across denominations and ethnicities would work together to cover every day of the month in 24/7 prayer as an important part of our response during this crisis. God has already given us a model that is simple and Coronavirus-safe. We also already have the website with calendars available for NWA, NEA, and Central Arkansas!

Here are the easy steps for any pastor to sign up your church:

  • Simply select a day of the month that your church will cover in prayer.
  • Then, appoint a schedule coordinator to help sign up volunteers into time slots.
  • Then, your church members can pray for home, work, or wherever they are during their scheduled time slot.

It’s that simple. Pastors can easily add their church to the calendar by clicking “Sign Up” on the website. There is no need for large gatherings and groups can pray together over conference calls or video chat. We will provide you with helpful resources like prayer guides and tools to get you started.

This is a critical hour for us to pray together in a safe and meaningful way. Could this be our opportunity to work together to raise up canopies of continuous prayer over Arkansas? Imagine the impact that would have as we serve the needs of our communities during this time. Visit arkansasprays.org for details and please send questions to Logan Bloom at [email protected].

Talk to your pastor about signing up your church and help us spread the word about Arkansas Prays.
