Marriage Matters

Someone from our small group recently told me that she enjoyed seeing my wife and I smile at each other and work together in our group. Of course, I was thankful for her comment, but it got me thinking… marriage matters. Better stated, My Marriage Matters. If it’s a reflection of the One on whom it’s built, then those around me will see His light and be drawn to it!

Love shared between a parent/child, siblings, friends, even perfect strangers is beautiful. However, the love shared between a husband and wife is a different sort of thing altogether. A covenant shared and kept between two people for their lives shows the depths of what real love can look like. A love that at its core is sacrificial and a gift from GOD.

A love not unlike the love we see from The Father to His children through the giving of His Holy Son.

Paul calls it a mystery as he equates the union of man and woman to the union of Christ and His Church. The Church is called the bride of Christ and she waits for the return of her Groom. These words in scripture were not used lightly. Marriage matters to GOD because through it He does some of His best work; joining two imperfect people, opposite in every way, together in a lifelong bond to help each other, strengthen each other’s faith, lift each other up, and bring forth new life to train in the admonition of the LORD. Every marriage, rooted in Christ, is a picture of Jesus to all they meet.

We value strong marriages in your church, in our communities, and in our city. We are praying to see real change as we work with the churches in Central Arkansas! Here are two upcoming events that can strengthen your marriage and the marriages in your church.
