“Christianity is ugly to increasing numbers of Americans and American institutions. Neither is it credible. From the outside its beliefs look superstitious, its behavior mean-spirited and its theology incomprehensible to the very people we are called to reach. We are at best considered beside the point, and at worst we are becoming the enemy. We are failing in our fundamental calling – to make Jesus and His message beautiful and believable.”
Dru Dodson, Solving the Problem of the (Invisible) Church and the Common Good
