Strong Marriages Build Flourishing Communities

The Challenge We Face

Marriage is at a crossroads in our culture.

Marriage rates have dropped 65% since 1970. Fewer than 1 in 2 adults are married for the first time in U.S. history.

Children of divorced families face higher risks of:

  • Behavioral and academic challenges.
  • Emotional instability.
  • Criminal behavior and domestic violence.

Divorce is linked to a shorter lifespan due to stress and associated health risks.

When marriages break down, whole communities suffer—but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Why Marriage Matters

Your marriage is worth fighting for. The Arkansas Marriage Initiative (AMI) exists to restore and redeem marriages in Arkansas by God’s power and for His glory.

Outside of our relationship with God, marriage is the most profound relationship there is.

Timothy Keller

What We Do

We partner with churches to strengthen marriages by:

  • Connecting churches, organizations, and individuals to improve relational health.
  • Equipping couples with proven marriage and relationship training.
  • Empowering leaders with tools to champion marriage in their communities.

Together, we can reverse the trends, restore hope, and see marriages flourish in Arkansas.

Empowering Churches

Marriage ministry is a missing link in a culture searching for answers. AMI empowers churches with the tools to restore marriages and transform communities.

Together, we can see marriage restored in our state.

I know of no better way to build strong marriages and families than to do what the Arkansas Marriage Initiative is doing—walking alongside men and women to help them build the marriages they always dreamed of having.
